Happy Father's Day.

My morning started with a 5:30AM Alarm. I stumbled into the kitchen and immersed myself into a hot cup of Vanilla Creme Coffee. The cobwebs quickly faded and the day was on.

Drove to the base of Red Mountain. Put one foot in front of the other for 2+ hours to gain the peak. Still great snowcover in the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado. Skied a nice steep line back to the car.

Drove home, collected my wife and kids and hit the trail for a hike on Animas Mountain in Durango. After 2 hours my dogs were barkin and I needed to get off my feet. A nice dinner some fine wine and good company made it a great Father's Day.

Hope it treated you all as well as it did me.

Keep livin'-Sven

The Great Sand Dunes of Colorado was our spring escape after a long winter.  We were not only looking for worm weather and sun, but a chance to run around without our feet crammed into ski boots.

The weather was great and we enjoyed the most uniquely placed 30sq mile pile of sand.

Ample snow fall this year in Colorado left us skiing lines and even powder well into the end of May. It is pretty unique in Colorado to be able to ski lines without the eminent danger of avalanches, but this spring the stability and incredible snow levels allowed us to ski some lines that have been un-skiable for years. Lets hope next season produces the same moisture as this season. Attached are some shots from our antics in mid May.

There are few places on this earth that have yet to be explored.  For some reason or another almost every mountain peak and valley has been seen by humans, but this year we had the opportunity to explore a location from a unique perspective.  We we not the first ones here, as the area has been mapped and documented for many reasons, but it had never been explored by skiers.  440 Kilometers north of the arctic circle we had the chance to ski mountains that had never been skied before.  Far from any town or any type of civilization we skied these remote peaks for the first time in history.
