Though we all seem to be too stubborn to use umbrellas, it has been raining enough for me to keep them with me. So, this morning, when the sun finally decided to make an appearance, I rejoiced. Today, umbrella, I will not rebelliously leave you in the car. I will do so because if I carry you around, people will label me crazy. Or Mary Poppins. Neither of which I have time for today.

This week I have discovered the "Tom and Jerry". A latte of Manager Kurt's invention. Creamy goodness of unknown orgin because he is keeping mum on the recipe! Though, this hasn't stopped some baristas from trying to sneak a peek when he makes one. So, my suggestion is to come in (when Kurt is here) and ask to try it. We can give you a sample and you can tell me what you think! I am of the mind to make it a menu item but it will take a little help from the masses.  This is me soliciting for comments!

In other news, I will be taking a small trip to San Antonio. While there, I am going to visit other coffee shops and get some good ideas. I love hearing all the unique and creative specials/menu items at non-corporate stores. I may try to stop in Dallas and/or Austin. There are a couple of really great shops in those towns and I would love to see why they are so great. I will also have to take some Silver Joe's espresso roast with me. I don't think I can go without it for 5 days. I prefer to brew that over other roasts, especially our espresso. It is so dreamy.

Craft fairs all weekend! The weather is supposed to be great for you all today and tomorrow but Sunday? Stay inside, drink some coffee and read a book. Also, don't check out the weather in San Antonio. You will be very jealous and that just isn't healthy.

Today is our three week anniversary! I realized this last night and was taken aback. It seems to me that Silver Joe's has been part of my life forever. You, the customers, are making our adventure amazing. Every morning in the cafe we are encouraged by the people who love us, our coffee and our pastries. Bonus: Most of you are talkative folks, like me!

This week has seen obscene amounts of rain. Gone are the days of iced tea on the patio, soaking up the sun. Sweaters and hot drinks begin their reign. When everything dries up, lets plan to congrigate on the patio, under heaters, swaddled in sweatshirts, consuming vast amounts of lattes and pastries. It could be a real party! Any takers?

This weekend had me up bright and early to get some coffee goodness to the ADA's Tour de Cure at Arvest Ballpark. It was pretty chilly here in the Ozarks and I was super popular because I had the only hot item plus it was coffee. So, double bonus points for Silver Joe's! I arrived to exclamations of "Coffee!" and a line was formed before I could get the pots prepared. I was honestly surprised by how many racers were consuming our goods, considering they were about to, you know, race.

I managed to get to the finish line to see and cheer participants as they crossed. Every person has my admiration because none if the events were little feats. Bikers had 100, 50 and 20 mile routes. While runners/walkers had the half marathon (13.1 miles) and Fun Walk (3 miles). People cried, danced and fell in exhaustion while I got caught up in the energy and vowed to participate next year ("I think I could do that 20 mile bike ride..."). Maybe next year we should do a Silver Joe's team? That would be super!
