Though we all seem to be too stubborn to use umbrellas, it has been raining enough for me to keep them with me. So, this morning, when the sun finally decided to make an appearance, I rejoiced. Today, umbrella, I will not rebelliously leave you in the car. I will do so because if I carry you around, people will label me crazy. Or Mary Poppins. Neither of which I have time for today.

This week I have discovered the "Tom and Jerry". A latte of Manager Kurt's invention. Creamy goodness of unknown orgin because he is keeping mum on the recipe! Though, this hasn't stopped some baristas from trying to sneak a peek when he makes one. So, my suggestion is to come in (when Kurt is here) and ask to try it. We can give you a sample and you can tell me what you think! I am of the mind to make it a menu item but it will take a little help from the masses.  This is me soliciting for comments!

In other news, I will be taking a small trip to San Antonio. While there, I am going to visit other coffee shops and get some good ideas. I love hearing all the unique and creative specials/menu items at non-corporate stores. I may try to stop in Dallas and/or Austin. There are a couple of really great shops in those towns and I would love to see why they are so great. I will also have to take some Silver Joe's espresso roast with me. I don't think I can go without it for 5 days. I prefer to brew that over other roasts, especially our espresso. It is so dreamy.

Craft fairs all weekend! The weather is supposed to be great for you all today and tomorrow but Sunday? Stay inside, drink some coffee and read a book. Also, don't check out the weather in San Antonio. You will be very jealous and that just isn't healthy.

That Tom & Jerry is terrific! Smooth & creamy, as promised. A perfect balance of creamy froth, a light "mysterious" flavor, and coffee taste. None of those elements overpowers the others. A perfect blend. The only down side to it all... you have to be there when Kurt is available. So far, he is the only one who knows how to make it. Let's hope there will be additional specilaty drinks on the way... and the rest of the crew knows how to mix 'em up.
