So many good things for me to share.

Tomorrow, for Halloween, we are giving free small hot chocolates to anyone in costume. Plus, the NWA Food Bank is doing a food drive to "Scare Away Hunger" at the Promenade and Razorback theaters. Donate food and you will get a ticket for a 20% off coupon!

Sunday we are launching our Silver Joe's Stimulus Package. Whenever you eat or shop in Rogers, bring in your receipt (from that day only) and get 15% off your order. This is just our way of thanking you for loving our neighborhood retail and restaurant shops!

Finally, we have a few new items on our menu. Today we are introducing the"Zombie". This is a breakfast delight of smoked sausage and cheese hugged by a yeast roll. Perfect car food and delish by my standards. Monday we will unveil our lunch options. One is a vegetarian friendly chipotle veggie wrap with roasted red peppers, provolone, basil garlic aioli, baby spinach, avocado and sprouts. The other is a classic turkey and swiss on 7 grain bread with easy mayo, brown mustard, avocado, baby spinach and sprouts. Pair that with a sweet tea and call it bliss!

See? Lots of coffee shop joy!

Tom and Jerry

Though we all seem to be too stubborn to use umbrellas, it has been raining enough for me to keep them with me. So, this morning, when the sun finally decided to make an appearance, I rejoiced. Today, umbrella, I will not rebelliously leave you in the car. I will do so because if I carry you around, people will label me crazy. Or Mary Poppins. Neither of which I have time for today.

This week I have discovered the "Tom and Jerry". A latte of Manager Kurt's invention. Creamy goodness of unknown orgin because he is keeping mum on the recipe! Though, this hasn't stopped some baristas from trying to sneak a peek when he makes one. So, my suggestion is to come in (when Kurt is here) and ask to try it. We can give you a sample and you can tell me what you think! I am of the mind to make it a menu item but it will take a little help from the masses. This is me soliciting for comments!

In other news, I will be taking a small trip to San Antonio. While there, I am going to visit other coffee shops and get some good ideas. I love hearing all the unique and creative specials/menu items at non-corporate stores. I may try to stop in Dallas and/or Austin. There are a couple of really great shops in those towns and I would love to see why they are so great. I will also have to take some Silver Joe's espresso roast with me. I don't think I can go without it for 5 days. I prefer to brew that over other roasts, especially our espresso. It is so dreamy.

Craft fairs all weekend! The weather is supposed to be great for you all today and tomorrow but Sunday? Stay inside, drink some coffee and read a book. Also, don't check out the weather in San Antonio. You will be very jealous and that just isn't healthy.

Three Weeks of Love

Today is our three week anniversary! I realized this last night and was taken aback. It seems to me that Silver Joe's has been part of my life forever. You, the customers, are making our adventure amazing. Every morning in the cafe we are encouraged by the people who love us, our coffee and our pastries. Bonus: Most of you are talkative folks, like me!

This week has seen obscene amounts of rain. Gone are the days of iced tea on the patio, soaking up the sun. Sweaters and hot drinks begin their reign. When everything dries up, lets plan to congrigate on the patio, under heaters, swaddled in sweatshirts, consuming vast amounts of lattes and pastries. It could be a real party! Any takers?

Early Morning Fun

This weekend had me up bright and early to get some coffee goodness to the ADA's Tour de Cure at Arvest Ballpark. It was pretty chilly here in the Ozarks and I was super popular because I had the only hot item plus it was coffee. So, double bonus points for Silver Joe's! I arrived to exclamations of "Coffee!" and a line was formed before I could get the pots prepared. I was honestly surprised by how many racers were consuming our goods, considering they were about to, you know, race.

I managed to get to the finish line to see and cheer participants as they crossed. Every person has my admiration because none if the events were little feats. Bikers had 100, 50 and 20 mile routes. While runners/walkers had the half marathon (13.1 miles) and Fun Walk (3 miles). People cried, danced and fell in exhaustion while I got caught up in the energy and vowed to participate next year ("I think I could do that 20 mile bike ride..."). Maybe next year we should do a Silver Joe's team? That would be super!

Pictures of the New Cafe

The cafe opened this past Thursday and it's been a great first week-end! We appreciate everyone's support and positive feedback. For those who haven't made it by yet, here are some pictures from opening day:

Let's Make it Official

Man, oh man was yesterday a hoot! We raised $1200 with United Way! Brooke Benoit (with UW) and Dana Sargent (with Rockfish Interactive) tweeted their pretty heads off spreading the word. Plus, Rockfish and other businesses in the area (Walmart, Arvest, Harvest Grp, Rogers Lowell CofC, Merrill Lynch) gave us such a warm welcome! So much excitement I will meet my exclamation quota too soon!

Today dawned beautiful. You can see the sunrise from the drive-thru of the cafe and it was not to be missed. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought so because the joint was jumping when I arrived! A latte and quiche made my Friday morning perfect. But, it is hard to choose since everything is so delicious!

The word apparently spread to the avian crowd and we were graced with a flock of Canadian Geese. Makes me appreciate our location. That last one made everyone a bit giddy! Gloria (as we call her, naturally) is a two group, lever operated espresso machine. We can pull shots old school style, if that is how you roll!

Today we are training the new Baristas and testing drinks. Should be a fun packed (and delicious) day!

I grabbed a few pics to tantalize you but if you want to see the “big picture” you will have to come see us Thursday for United Way Day!

Cafe Update

The cafe is getting very close to our opening on Thursday.

Silver Joe's Cafe Opening Soon

I stopped by the new Silver Joe's Cafe opening in Northwest Arkansas next week and shot some photos posted below. We'll announce the grand opening details on our blog soon.

Silver Joe's Attends National Rally

Silver Joe’s attended the 49th annual WBCCI (Wally Byam Caravan Club International) Rally in Salem, Oregon, June 26 – 30th. Airstream will be co-promoting with Silver Joe's Coffee in an exceptional licensing agreement that represents a first for both entities. "Americans have literally grown up with the Airstream brand and understand the sense of adventure and individuality that our trailers and products represent.

We believe this arrangement places our experience well with the newer generation of Airstreamers, and it affirms our current market incredibly well, said Tim Garner, Airstream Director of Sales and Marketing. "Whether you set out on a journey or you just need a great cup of coffee to seize the day, Silver Joe's sets the stage," Garner continued. Both companies have distinguished themselves as leaders in their category and are known for linking consumers with experiences and products to set the tone for those experiences.
